Prevention Services

Women's Cancer Prevention

This program provides for the screening of breast and cervical cancers among the women of Guadalupe. Our women experience a higher rate of death and disability due to these cancers. Las Fuentes provides a comprehensive program to detect these cancers at an early and treatable stage.

Children's Wellness Program

This program provides the children of Guadalupe developmental guidance in their physical and emotional health. Health information and regular physical examinations assit the child to incorporate healthy behaviors and reduce their risks for diabetes, obesity and drug abuse.

Immunizations

Las Fuentes provides childhood immunizations twice a month. Over 5,000 children have been immunized at Las Fuentes, greatly reducing the incident of infectious disease among children.

Diabetes Treatment

Diabetes remains the major cause of early disability and death in Guadalupe. Las Fuentes provides diabetic patients with education and treatment to control their diabetes. A major focus is on developing healthy eating habits and exercize.

School and Sports Physical Examinations

Every year Las Fuentes provides hundres of school physical examinations to the youth of Guadalupe. This enables many youth to participate in school sports and thereby greatly reduce the risks of involvement in gang activity and drug use.
